  • Born June 22, 1959 - Staten Island, NY
  • One of four children - Great grandson of Italian and Irish immigrants (1890's).
  • Moved to Arkansas in 1975 due to father's job transfer (Johnson & Johnson).
  • Graduated from North Little Rock Northeast High School - 1977, with honors.
  • 3-sport athlete in high school - basketball, football and baseball.
  • Attended University of Arkansas at Little Rock 1977-79.
  • Attended Fairleigh Dickinson University (NJ) 1979-81.
    • Graduated with Bachelor of Science degree - cum laude.
  • Worked my way through college. Paid back student loans in record time.
  • Married the former Cindy Huffman - June 1984. My High School sweetheart.
  • Tom and Cindy have three sons - Joe, 19 - Phil, 16 - Nick, 13.

Position: District Manager

Duties include day-to-day management of sales and operations for the cardiac rhythm division of Medtronic in the state of Arkansas. Manage staff of 26 high-tech, high-intensity medical professionals. Annual sales-past 12 months = $35 million dollars. Annual operating budget = $5 million dollars.

Significant Achievements:

  • District average compound annual growth = 28% per year since inception.
  • President's Club Award (top 5%) FY 2001-02.
  • Numerous Quarterly Contest Awards.
  • District Manager Council - 2002, 2004.
  • Assembly of technical and sales staff second to none.
  • Opened district from ground zero in 1999.

May 1990-February 99
Position: Sales and Clinical Consultant.

Duties included sales, service and education activities in the high tech cardiology field of medicine. Product line included implantable pacemakers, defibrillators and associated accessories. Assisted physicians in the operating suite and clinical environments on proper implantation, programming and follow-up of implanted cardiac devices.

Position: Sales Representative

Duties included selling full line of Urological specialty products to physicians, nursing personnel, and purchasing personnel. Consulted physicians in surgery on proper use of products. Also was responsible for in depth inservicing of nursing personnel on product line, and direct contract negotiations.

  • Territory rank at exit - #3 of 72.

Position: Sales Representative, Section Manager, Professional Sales Division.

Duties included selling full line of pharmaceutical, hospital disposable, personal and dental health care products to physicians, nurses, dental professionals and purchasing personnel.

Significant Achievements:

  • Led nation in key sales categories in FY 1988.
  • Promoted to Section Manager in September 1988.
  • Trained new reps in field and sales OP course.
  • Key of excellence - FY '88 (top ten reps in division).

Position: Sales Representative

Duties included sales and servicing of key telephone equipment.

Integrated Resources June 1982 - March 1984
Position: Staff Junior Actuary

Duties included compilation/calculation of reserve requirements on insurance policies in force and pension funds for state agencies. Worked as liaison between actuarial and accounting departments within company. Managed staff of six clerical personnel.
